主讲人简介：

Jose Torero教授是UCL土木、环境与测绘系教授、系主任，研究领域涵盖火灾安全、燃烧学、环境治理与环境卫生、新型建筑、重要设施、航空及航天等诸多领域。Jose是澳大利亚技术科学与工程院院士、英国皇家工程院院士、爱丁堡皇家学会院士。他参与了一些世界地标的设计，包括世界第一高的木结构办公楼、美国航天局Cape Canaveral航天飞机停机库、2011年“火人节”神庙。Torero教授参与了美国“911”世贸大楼倒塌的调查、智利圣米格尔监狱火灾的调查，英国Grenfell火灾的公共调查。

Brief Introduction of Professor Jose Torero

Professor José L. Torero is Professor Civil Engineering and Head of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering at University College London. He works in the fields of fire safety, combustion, environmental remediation and sanitation, novel architectures, critical infrastructure, aircraft and spacecraft. José is a fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, the Royal Academy of Engineering (UK), and the Royal Society of Edinburgh (UK). He has been involved in landmark designs such as the tallest timber office building in the world, the Space Shuttle hangars in Cape Canaveral or the 2011 temple for “Burning Man.” He has been part of the World Trade Center collapse investigation, the Chilean investigation of the San Miguel prison fire and currently, he is serving in the Grenfell Public Inquiry.
